Home Protection

Your personal belongings and valuables are important to you and need to be protected from theft and other types of loss. Diversion safes are the ideal way to hide and secure valuables, cash and other items in the event of a break-in. These safes are designed to look exactly like ordinary household items and can be disguised as just about anything like a book or even an electrical outlet. If a thief in your home doesn't know that the safe exists, they cannot access it to steal what is hidden there. Even if they are aware of the existence of a diversion safe, it would be next to impossible for them to identify which item hides your valuables.

The variety of items that can be used as camouflage are virtually endless and the most effective are those that a thief is least likely to check like cans of food or bottles of detergent. Keep in mind that thieves want to get in and out as fast as possible in order to escape without being detected or caught in the act. There is simply no time for a thief to check every item in the home meaning that unlike regular safes, the diversion safe is not a target.

Burglars target common areas where valuables may be kept or hidden to minimize the time in your house to a few minutes. The less obvious the camouflage, the less likely the thief will be to check it. For example, there are too many electrical sockets in your home for a thief to check to determine if something of value may be hidden there. Diversion safes are far more effective at escaping detection than hiding money or jewelry under the mattress, in your sock draw or other places where people think that a burglar may not look.

Areas where thieves may look for valuable items first when they enter your home include:

  • In bedroom or hall closets, dressers and cupboards
  • Under the bed, mattress and around the bed
  • In the refrigerator or freezer
  • The cistern of the toilet

The reason for this is because these are the places most people believe that thieves are least likely to look. A diversion safe is however disguised to be the last place a thief will look. Once a burglar has spent the majority of their time checking all the usual places, they have little time to check for a diversion safe.

For example, the master bedroom dressers and drawers may seem to be the best hiding place but it also seems like the best place for a thief to check for valuables. Most people make very bad choices when selecting a hiding place in their home to stash their valuables. The poor economy and other factors mean that crime is on the rise and it is more important than ever to protect your valuables.

Diversion safes are an effective means to protect you belongings even if your home becomes the target for theft.
